Abstract

This research responds to the need for leadership models that are scientifically sound and practical in complex organisational settings. As cognitive demands on leaders grow, traditional development methods prove insufficient. This work introduces the CISA model (Cognitive Infrastructure for Strategic Autonomy) as a fresh contribution to the field.

The project sits at the crossroads of cognitive psychology, leadership science, and strategic management. It combines academic inquiry with professional experience in high-stakes decision-making. Using interdisciplinary insights and empirical data, it offers a structured, actionable approach to enhancing leadership cognition.

Many individuals and institutions have supported this journey. I sincerely thank my academic supervisors for their guidance and my professional colleagues for their practical insights. Special thanks go to the leadership team at Microchip Technology Inc., whose openness to innovation shaped the work’s practical focus.

I hope this proposal enriches discussions on leadership autonomy and resilience, and that the CISA framework serves as a useful blueprint for boosting cognitive performance at top decision-making levels.
