Abstract
This study examined combining strategic thinking and planning for success in NASCO, Grand Cereals Ltd, and Poboy Ice Cream, part of Nigerian Associated Best Foods Ltd, all in Plateau State, Nigeria. It aimed to see if organizations practicing strategic planning perform better when applying strategic thinking. The sample included 385 staff from the three companies. Data were analyzed using T-tests at a 0.05 significance level, testing three hypotheses: (1) No significant difference in achieving goals using strategic planning with strategic thinking; (2) No significant difference between senior and junior staff in using strategic thinking; (3) No significant difference between male and female staff in using strategic thinking. Results showed a significant difference in goal achievement when strategic thinking was applied to planning. There was also a significant difference between senior and junior staff in using strategic thinking, but no significant difference between male and female staff. Findings were discussed regarding their impact on achieving organizational goals.
