Abstract:

This study explores the impact of employee motivation on performance during the COVID-19 pandemic at Planet Nine Engineering and Power Solution Co., Ltd., in Myanmar. The pandemic has not only accelerated existing workplace challenges but also introduced new dynamics in employee motivation and organizational performance. Using descriptive statistics and regression analysis on data collected from 150 employees through structured questionnaires, the research aims to identify intrinsic and extrinsic motivational factors and their effects on job satisfaction and employee performance. The study investigates the mediation effect of job satisfaction between motivational factors and performance, providing insights into how these relationships influence organizational outcomes during crises. Initial findings suggest that both intrinsic and extrinsic motivations significantly affect job satisfaction, which in turn impacts employee performance. These insights contribute to understanding how motivation can be strategically managed to enhance organizational resilience and effectiveness during and after the pandemic. This research highlights the critical role of targeted motivational strategies in sustaining workforce engagement and organizational performance in challenging economic times.
