Abstract

The objective of the study is to examine the job satisfaction levels among local teachers in international schools in Yangon, Myanmar. The study aims to identify the factors that contribute to job satisfaction and provide recommendations for enhancing teachers’ well-being. Job satisfaction is a crucial aspect of teachers’ well-being and can significantly impact their motivation, performance, and retention in the teaching profession. The problem statement addresses the limited research available on job satisfaction specifically among local teachers in international school settings in Yangon, Myanmar. A quantitative research approach was employed, utilizing surveys as the primary data collection method. The findings highlight the importance of a supportive work environment, competitive salary and benefits, job security, positive relationships with colleagues, and opportunities for professional growth. Recommendations include improving work conditions, revising compensation packages, providing professional development opportunities, fostering a supportive work culture, and establishing clear career advancement pathways. This research provides valuable insights for educational stakeholders and contributes to enhancing the quality of education in international schools in Yangon.
