Abstract

This study examined integrating strategic thinking and planning for success and goal attainment in NASCO, Group of Companies, Grand Cereals Ltd, and Poboy Ice Cream, a department of Nigerian Associated Best Foods Ltd, all in Plateau State, Nigeria. It aimed to find if organizations practicing strategic planning perform better when exposed to strategic thinking. The sample included 385 staff members from the three organizations. T-test analyzed the data, testing hypotheses at 0.05 significance level: (1) No significant difference in achieving goals using strategic planning with strategic thinking. (2) No significant difference between senior and junior staff in achieving goals using strategic thinking. (3) No significant difference between male and female staff in using strategic thinking. Findings showed a significant difference in using strategic thinking in planning for goal achievement. There was also a significant difference between senior and junior staff in strategic thinking use. However, no significant difference existed between male and female staff. These findings were discussed regarding their impact on organizational goal achievement.
