Abstract

Scania Group, founded in 1891 and headquartered in Södertälje, Sweden, is a global leader in heavy transport solutions, operating in over 100 countries with a workforce of approximately 55,000 employees. In 2023, the company reported revenues of SEK 170,004 million and adjusted operating income of SEK 15,971 million. As part of the Traton Group, Scania’s offerings extend beyond vehicles to include financing, insurance, maintenance, leasing, and roadside assistance. In June 2023, the author assumed the dual role of Chief Product Owner and Global Head of Enabling Technology for People & Culture, with accountability for a €14 million technology budget and stewardship of the organisation’s global People & Culture technology portfolio. Leading a newly formed team of ten, alongside indirect oversight of technical and business support teams, the author is responsible for aligning technology with the People strategy, governing data and information systems, and ensuring a positive experience for candidates, employees, and managers worldwide.
