Abstract
This capstone project explores Savver.Ai, an AI-powered financial savings application designed to integrate with college and university systems across Canada. Positioned as a disruptive solution to student financial management, the project aligns with the University of Alberta Graduate Student Association’s strategic priorities of Growth, Advocacy, and Reimagination. Drawing on over a decade of expertise in student services across Canada and Australia, the researcher highlights the systemic barriers—financial, infrastructural, and policy-related—that hinder technological adoption in higher education. By addressing these limitations through private-sector innovation, this study demonstrates how Savver.Ai can transform conventional approaches, bridging the gap between universities and technological advancement while meeting critical student needs.
