Abstract:
Global corporations are facing an existential crisis that will dramatically reshape the sustainability landscape. Agreements like the Paris Agreement and country-specific frameworks, such as the UAE Net Zero by 2050 Strategy, are setting aggressive emissions reduction targets and forcing companies to go beyond mere compliance, taking proactive steps toward a sustainable future. At the same time, there is an unprecedented acceleration of climate transition plans globally, with more than 25 countries having either implemented or developed requirements for these plans. Additionally, major economies in Europe and Asia are moving toward mandatory or strongly encouraged disclosure of transition plans using common frameworks, such as those proposed by the ISSB and CSRD.
